So MegaMeg has already spent $46MM on her campaign to date and laughs off any rumor that she has a cap on spending in order to win.  That fact alone can only mean that she has a really scary agenda if her record isn't enough. Oh wait.  She doesn't have a record of doing anything other than making money.  For MegaMeg.  Schwarzenegger bought his way in.  Rich bastards always buy everything.  The don't necessarily do anything useful unless they have to.  It's all about them. Read more

It is no surprise when candidates for public office use a strawman argument to appeal to the desires or fears of the electorate and political donors. So, It is no great surprise that gubernatorial candidates Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner in their recent debate offered up a strawman argument as a cure all for the economic despair that in which most Californians are mired. UPDATE 1/12/10: Tom Campbell has canceled his appearance at this event, because of a likely announcement Thursday that he will be dropping out of the race in order to run for the U.S. Senate.
