"Environmental Toxic Tour" with Nury Martinez
Nury Martinez, executive director of the community organization Pacoima Beautiful as well as a school board member of the Los Angeles Unified School District, talked to us after receiving our Environmental Leadership Award in December.
Nury has witnessed first-hand the environmental justice problems that polluting industry causes in Pacoima and communities like it. She thinks candidates for governor (or any office in California) should tour affected areas in the state, and she is personally willing to lead an "Environmental Toxic Tour," as she puts it, for any candidate for governor who is willing to see the effect that diesel fuel and toxic pollution have on our children and families.
