Peter Schurman, MoveOn.org Founder, enters Democratic Primary race

Is the Democratic primary about to get interesting?  Ever since Gavin Newsom and Antonio Villaraigosa dropped out, Jerry Brown has been considered a shoe-in for the Democratic nomination, somewhat to the chagrin of the party's left flank.  Now a much more liberal candidate has entered the race - Peter Schurman, founder of the revolutionary MoveOn.org, announced his candidacy on Tuesday. What kind of a candidate - or Governor - will Schurman be?  Now there are at least two CEOs in the race, and even though Schurman has no public service experience, neither do the Republican candidates!  If nothing else, Schurman should move the entire debate to the left.   And we have a race once again!Read more here:http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/04/06/politics/p17...

Read Peter Schurman's column (it ran in the Huffington Post, Daily Kos, and Calitics) and tell us if you agree: http://www.greengov2010.org/news/2010/05/peter-schurman-why-ill-be-bette...

Interesting, but is this just to get Jerry to start talking about progressive issues? If Schurman is a serious candidate, he better have serious money to back him up. While Jerry isn't pouring in the personal wealth like his Republican opponets, he still has lots of money coming in from the progressive camp.
